Ultimate at UVic is organized under three distinct entities:
This is the UVic sports club that oversees the management of UVic's two competitive ultimate teams: UVictim and the UVixens.
UVictim is a well-established and dedicated College Open team. They've had a steady and committed roster of twenty or more players for the past three years. Since the team's revival in the fall of 2005, they have travelled as far as California, and typically hit five to seven tournaments a year. UVictim is well connected with several Canadian Open/Elite Club teams and has players returning from Furious George, Blackfish and Toronto's Grand Trunk.
The UVixens are UVic's competitive College Women's team. Year after year the team gains experienced and new players, and they typically attend three to four tournaments. The UVixens have represented the club extremely well over the past few seasons, climbing through the standings in tournaments as distant as Edmonton.
UVic has a very active Intramural Ultimate League. Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on the artificial turf of Field 2. The school year is broken up into fall and spring seasons. The league represents a wide range of competitiveness, from brand new players signing up on their own teams or as singles, to wiley UVictim and UVixen members looking to hone their skills against other players from the Victoria Ultimate community.
The Victoria Ultimate Players' Society hosts league play in the summer and winter months, as well as
PickUp games every Sunday afternoon, and Summer tournaments. More information can be found at their website:
